The grant funding is available towards the cost of equipment, supply and installation of your charge points and must be purchased via a fully qualified and authorised installer, as listed within the governments OLEV  site below.

The government OLEV grant for 75% must be claimed against an approved chargepoint and made on your behalf by the chargepoint installers, who must be authorised by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). Lists of approved chargepoints and authorised chargepoint installers are publicly available.

The grant in Scotland is administered by the Energy Saving Trust and full details of how to access it can be found here, funding is available for addresses in Scotland only.

The On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme provides grant funding for local authorities to install residential chargepoints, to part fund (75%) the capital costs relating to the procurement and installation of residential electric vehicle chargepoint infrastructure. Local authorities can receive a grant OZEV can fund up to a maximum of £13,000 per chargepoint installation, where connection costs are high.

Local Authority Funding

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has allocated £20m of funding for 2020/21 for on-street residential projects. This is available for the LA’s to apply for residential on-street projects and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This can  fund up to  75% of the capital costs of the fully installed charge points, it includes the parking bays where applicable.

The remaining 25% of capital costs will need to be met and there are innovative  EV Charging companies that will fund this element in partnership with LA’s.

OLEV is willing to consider applications for chargepoints situated in car parks owned by the local authority where they meet the objectives of the scheme and wants to encourage innovation in the area, EV Driver consultancy can help and advise on suitable options.
